LIFTYA is a unique personalized shoulder assisting device, which
provides ‘stability with motion’, whilst reducing pain to patients.
LIFTYA is designed with the intent to:
(1) preserve the Range of Motion,
(2) alleviate pressure from the shoulder joint,
(3) increase independent living, by allowing the patient to put on and remove the brace
on their own to perform daily activities.
Globally 5 million patients a year survive a stroke. Up to 80% suffer from subluxation of the shoulder due to one-sided paralysis. These patients usually require joint immobilization and 6-12 months rehabilitation. This leads to costly dependent care and delay to return to work and daily activities.
LIFTYA is a ‘spherical hinge mechanism’, which replicates the behaviour of the shoulder joint. This design provides great stability and full Range of Motion, whilst reducing pain.
The technology is protected by an International patent.
Few patients are currently using Liftya and benefit from it.
The company is filing for CE mark regs documentation and planning to get approval by Q2 2024.
A new technology development (Gen 2) for fast-acquisition of the anatomy and quick production
will be carried out with a bioengineering R&D consulting partner.
The advanced kinematics analysis will be done in collaboration with Politecnico of Torino and
Aalborg Universities, both renowned bioengineering departments, starting in November 2023.
We will start experimental patients’ trials at both neuro and ortho rehabilitation centres in Q2
2024.
